ALS to Attend WMSoc Event on Water Safety Plans

Dec 4, 2014

The Water Management Society (WMSoc) will be holding a conference in Central London on Thursday 11th December 2014 at the Royal College of Surgeons. The event will focus on "Water Safety Plans, What Do They Mean To Me?" and ALS Environmental will continue our support of the WMSoc by exhibiting at the event.

Updates to ACOP L8 and HSG 274, indicate that Plans and the formation of Water Safety Groups and Teams are integral for safe water delivery programmes. Once a legal requirement of just Hospitals and Department of Health (DoH) units, Water Safety plans now need to be considered in all commercial, industrial and rented residential properties.

The WMSoc event will have a range of speakers and delegates from the Water Treatment industry, NHS and Academics, including Paul Nolan, Dr Susan Lee (Leegionella) and Dr Barbara Mouchtouri (Thesslay University)

ALS Environmental will be represented at the WMSoc event by Nick Barsby, Sales and Marketing Manager, who will be on hand to talk about how the rapid confirmation technique, MALDI-ToF, can help play a key role in water safety and monitoring:

The implementation of a Water Safety Plan is key to providing a safe working environment; with routine monitoring and analysis of water for Legionella and other bacteria, such as the ESKAPES pathogens for DoH units, critical to the success of the Water Safety Plan. By confirming all of our microbiological analysis using the MALDI-ToF we are giving infection control and the responsible person additional species information on any contamination in a market leading time frame.

For more details on our market leading MALDI-ToF Legionella confirmations. PCR analysis or ESKAPES suite of analysis please contact us or call the laboratory on 02476 42 12 13.
