Waste Management

Flow & Load Surveys

Flow and Load surveys can result in a large number of samples for analysis of Organic, Inorganic and Microbial parameters in a very short space of time that few laboratories in the UK are able to handle. ALS Environmental have a Waste Water Centre of Excellence in Coventry and a Drinking Water Centre of Excellence in Wakefield that are able to handle large scale Flow and Load projects for either Waste or Drinking Water over the short, medium or long term.

ALS Environmental are a UKAS, MCERTS and Drinking Water Testing Specification (DWTS) accredited analytical service provider of Flow and Load surveys. We can supply Equipment for Hire for the onsite monitoring as well as a broad range of chemical analysis including:

  • Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD)
  • Dissolved Oxygen
  • Chloride
  • Metal
  • Sulphide

We have a vast experience in handling large scale Flow and Load surveys from across the UK and can offer a dedicated Customer Service Co-ordinator to manage the set-up and on-going analysis of any project. Furthermore, we can offer Pre-Registration of samples if required at no additional cost which can make projects run more efficiently.

For extreme peaks in sample volumes we have the capability to add extra shifts to allow us to complete your analytical data on time and in stability. For such spikes in samples we utilise the vast experience of our analysts to choose the correct dilution factor for your samples.

ALS Environmental are the first UK environmental laboratory to utilise the MALDI-ToF  confirmation approach for Microbiological analysis. This can offer additional species level information at no additional cost while also removing the presumptive stage of all bacteriological analysis:
