Upon the ESKAPES article being published by InfectionControl.tips Nick Barsby, ALS Environmental's Sales & Marketing Manager and Co-author of the ESKAPES paper, comments:

The risk posed by these pathogens is significant. In the UK we have long been aware of the risks posed by Legionella, these are outlined in ACoP L8 and HTM04-01. Pseudomonas aeruginosa has also come under scrutiny in recent years; however, the analytical techniques to identify some of these pathogens have, until recently, been expensive. Utilising the MALDI-ToF ALS Environmental are able to offer a cost effective approach to identifying these bacteria in an efficient and timely manner.
