ALS Environmental to be Represented on the SCLF Committee

Dec 1, 2014

The Scottish Contaminated Land Forum (SCLF) is at the forefront of contaminated land and remediation developments in Scotland. On the 25th November the group held its Quarterly Forum Meeting and AGM at Strathclyde University and at this event Sue Eakin, Business Development Manager for Scotland and Ireland at ALS Environmental was accepted onto the committee.

ALS Environmental have a long history in the Soils analysis market and support some of the worlds leading consultancies across the rest of Europe and the world on large scale infrastructure projects. We are members of the AGS and have an array of analysts who are members of the Royal Society of Chemistry in both our Organics and Inorganics laboratories.

One area sure to be of interest to the SCLF membership is the use of Rapid Measurement Techniques (RMT) such as XRF (for instant metals analysis in soils) and the SiteLAB UVF3100 (for instant hydracarbon analysis on soils and waters). The use of these RMT is already growing and at the September SCLF annual conference, which ALS Environmental part sponsored, their use was one of the topics under discussion.

Upon her election to the SCLF committee a delighted Sue commented:

It is a real honour to be nominated onto the SCLF committee.  I have been attending these SCLF events regularly over the last few years and know this forum to be a well supported and respected body within the Scottish Contaminated Land sector, with its 350-strong membership.  ALS Environmental has a long record of working with a wide range of consultants, contractors and remediators and being on the committee shows out continued commitment to Scotland, and the contaminated land sector.  I hope to be able to add real value as a committee member and believe ALS as a company will also benefit by being at the forefront of emerging sector trends and issues.
