ALS have recently won the ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ award at the annual Labs Awards ceremony held as part of the Lab Innovations Conference at Birmingham’s NEC in November. We feel this award is reflective of our efforts to make ALS a really welcoming place of work and one that genuinely values the contribution made by each and every employee. We are extremely proud of our activities on addressing gender equality and of our ‘RISE’ initiative (Reach, Inspire, Share, Elevate) that encourages, informs and celebrates diversity and inclusion.

The 'RISE' objectives are to build a community of employees passionate about gender equity, Create opportunities for employees from across the business to share experiences and learn from each another; and through jointly created strategies improve the balance of gender representation within ALS.

To ensure we continue to achieve these values we employ a range of people; from those who are already highly qualified and experienced with formal science based qualifications and laboratory experience, through to those with no specific qualifications or experience other than an interest in furthering their career path within a laboratory environment. With our ongoing training programme there is always opportunity for progression for the right candidate.
