Geraint Williams, Associate & Technical Lead based at our Hawarden Laboratory has over 24 years’ experience within the contaminated land industry and regularly advises ALS’s clients on a wide range of UK projects. 

During this time, he has served on many industry bodies including the Society of Brownfield Risk Assessment (SoBRA), as a member of the Executive Committee, as Chair of the Technical Panel and a member of the Vapour Intrusion group. He currently serves on the Contaminated Land Working Group of the Association of Geotechnical & Geoenvironmental Specialists (AGS), the National Brownfield Forum (NBF), as well as EH/4, British Standards Technical Committee on Soil Quality. He participates in International Standard Organisation (ISO) committees on investigation, assessment and remediation of land contamination.

This year, ALS, along with LQM and Tetra Tech, were appointed by the Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA) to write good practice guidance on PFAS in soil and water environments. Geraint has very recently been elected as lead for the Network for Industrially Co-ordinated Sustainable Land Management in Europe, (NICOLE’s), PFAS lab working group.
